BACKGROUND: Everything is awful.

INCENTIVE: Spoilers for Civil War. Clint Barton is a family man. It's true that being an Avenger has always made him feel needed. He feels like his job is to be this person. Very recently he retired to be with his family who also needed him. He realized that maybe they needed him more so Clint hung up his spurs. He came out of retirement to help his friends, but it did bite him in the ass. Because of his involvement and siding with Steve Rogers he became an enemy of General Ross and the government. This put him in a cell on the Raft isolated and away from his family. Because Steve breaks him out this sort of means that he's an enemy of the state. But all that Clint wants in the world is to be reunited with his family. Clint has dealt with being away on missions and for long operations when he was with SHIELD, but facing the idea of not seeing his family doesn't work for him. He wants them safe and he wants them with him because he's not going to walk away from this path Steve set them on.

FIT: Clint Barton is a married man. Something that not many people knew about until they were so deep into a friendship with him. He keeps his private life private for a reason. But with Eudio he would have no issue telling people he's married because it's important to him that people don't take any of his interactions to mean anything more. He wasn't want people to get the wrong idea about him or misunderstand his intentions here. The last thing he needs people thinking is he's a married man that ran away to Eudio to get away from his family. Clint is here to get his family back. He has kids and seems to have a loving an intimate relationship with his wife. Clint assumes he'll start out light, but he's likely to realize very quickly that getting to his family faster might mean breaking some eggs. He loves his family and desperately wants to see them again as well as have them safe. So he'll learn he has to do what he must.

CONSENT: Consent is actually a huge issue for Clint Barton. He had his choice taken away from him by Loki when he used the scepter on him. Clint carries a huge amount of guilt because of this. He knows what it's like to have something pulled out of you and something else shoved inside. To be made to kill people and then to wake up and have to face the damage. To have someone tell you it wasn't you, but you know deep down you did it all. You are responsible. He takes responsibility for his brainwashed actions and fights every day to forgive himself. When Wanda tries to use her powers on him he stops her almost immediately because Clint refuses to let someone play with his mind again and take away his consent. Because of this Clint would never ever tamper with anyone's consent.
